Have you an email I can contact you on ?
Do you wet the bricks before laying?
What's your typical/everyday mix ratio? Cheers
Guy is a pro well done.
is it white cement your using?
Hello. Could You, please, give an estimation of normal productivity of brickwork per hour or per 8H shift? Here I see 36 bricks pro 22 min. Is it really so? Thanks in advance!
Do it, you very slowly.

Why is the indent placed on the top side rather than on the bottom. Won't it hold water should any moisture get in the brick?
Hi Rob. I'm a bricklaying lecturer/trainer for over 14 years now. What mix do you use, it looks really light and "airy". I'm in the north east using yellow building sand and hydrated lime in the workshop. No matter how I adjust the mortar mix it always is "claggy" and sticks to the trowel. .
Great videos by the way.
Thanks Richie
Can you please tell the measurement on the profile for each brick ( is it 100mm ?
Beautiful work.
Dry bound is so important.
I learned the hard way as I assumed all my bricks where 215 mm and just used a 10 mm spacer for the joints and laid away.
I came to the end and noticed I needed to add a wider perp joint. I used the spacer on the way back with the 1/2 bound next row also. Then I figured out the problem as I was short again : (
I then marked out a stick with the correct bound. Stupidly I did not factor the two rows I had laid and now the bottom two lines don't line up with the perps on the other rows.
I am thinking that I will mark a vertical line down and use a mini grinder to get the line back on track. Is this a good workaround Rob? as I dont want to knock down all the blocks again.
PS I am a pure novice as you can tell.

Rob, fantastic videos – i must have watched everything you have put on here. I'm interested in the mortar you use for these training videos. Is it a special type – to allow easy disassembly? i need more practise but do not have the space or stock for the number of walls / panels i would like to try.
Rob your the worlds best at buttering bricks!!!!!!
Rob, you set this up for a right hander, does that screw things up if you have a right and left hander working the same plot 🙂
Great tutorial. What trowel do you use or recommend for the DIYer? Thanks again.
Sir what kind of cement is that you are using for bonding?
What would you do if you were not happy with the face plain. would you keep the level butted up and try nudge the offending brick in line? my concern would be making other bricks go out of level as you budged the brick.
Where did you plump to in this. was it in the middle of the perp or to the right of it. I could not see the position of the level in the shot. I think you plumbed to the right of the perp but I am not 100%
The way you butter that perp is a thing of beauty
18:50 that brick looks a bit wonky pause the video and you will see where im coming from. Look at the mortar
Don't you roll the mortar?
How can one tell that the side of the brick which is opposite to the rope is not higher or lower? I'm not a bricklayer it just interests me.
Great job , nice shoes, good luck 😉 👏👏
American bricklayer would have spread the entire wall in mortar and then laid from left to right, on residential work

good morning my friend i'm starting to build and i'm here from Brazil i would like to know the name of this tool you use to stretch the line
Muito bom
The best bricklayer on youtube . A class act . Respect
Lovely mortar there. Reminds me of angel delight
Is that lime mortar?
In Vietnam, masos are usually idle, not yettrained in construction
I am Vietnamese, you build a very nice wall

I don't understand the praises for saving the spider. I wouldn't of killed it, but that brick would have been in that corn field quicker than a fat kid on a Snickers bar.
buen trabajo amigo yo tambien soy blockero pero tu trabajo esta bien saludos de tijuana mexico
Dude tell some good jokes while you are laying out the bricks. The momentum will blend in with your work and make you quicker and neater
I'm really appreciative that you treated the spider with kindness.
Hi rob great videos very helpful for complete beginners such as myself. I'm going to attempt a double skin, stretcher bond garden wall and was just wondering. If there is a 10mm joint between the two skins, when I come to lay my horizontal soldiers on top will that not leave me 5mm short either side of the wall and is that the norm? Thanks, Tom.
https://amzn.to/3bee2HK no easy way for beginners to lay bricks I used this saved a fortune good luck people
